Gait and Motion Analysis: Open for Patient Care!
Beginning today, the final piece of Gillette’s new patient care building — the James R. Gage Center for Gait and Motion Analysis — opened to patients and families. We now have twice as much space for motion analysis testing. And since our Center for Gait and Motion Analysis is the busiest clinical motion analysis center in the world (yes, you read that right!), we know we’ll make good use of our added square footage.
What is Gait Analysis, Anyway?
If you aren’t quite sure what Gait and Motion Analysis means, chances are you’re not alone. But you’re in luck– we’re here to help! Using advanced computer technology, Gillette’s motion analysis team can analyze how muscles, joints and nerves work together to make movement possible. That helps our doctors recommend treatments for patients’ walking and movement problems.
About Our New Space
Our expanded Center for Gait and Motion Analys (or “Gait Lab,” for short) features private family reception and waiting areas, state-of-the-art testing equipment, and heated floors for added comfort during exams. Take a closer look, and you’ll notice a theme: a Pooh and Tigger measurement scale, Pooh artwork, and a whimsical poem, written on gait analysis, that mimics a Winnie the Pooh original.
Expanded space in our Center for Gait and Motion Analysis testing area, seen here, will allow us to treat even more children!
Visitors to our new space will notice a playful Winnie the Pooh theme, including this height measurement scale.
A portrait of James R. Gage, M.D., for whom our Center is named, hangs in the family reception area.
Family waiting space is filled with natural light and features both child- and adult-sized seating.
